About myself

Hello! My name is Bing Shin. You can call me Bing.
I started this blog in year 2013.  I was inspired by many other T1D bloggers in overseas, to share my journey on diabetes. Diabetes Online Community (DOC) is incredibly big and I found most of my support there.

I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus on 19th March 2007, when I was 17 years old. Year 2015 is the 8th year of having diabetes and I am still learning every bits of it as life phrases go by. Having a disease which is permanent may sound a little pathetic at this young age. I used to feel that nobody understands me and that I am all alone in this forever-losing-battle with T1DM,
But, thanks to the widespread of internet usage and availability of blogging, at least now I can find similarities of myself in other T1Ds around the world.

I mentioned it as "forever-losing" because there is currently no cure for diabetes. Okay, perhaps I break even between T1DM and myself, because I do not have any complications yet at least (thank god).
I was previously on Multiple Daily Injections (MDI) of 4 times a day. Just switched to insulin pump in February 2015.

I would say I am an introvert person, if you're new to me. Sometimes, I feel awkward to start a random topic with a fairly new friend. However, if we are getting along well, I can be a very easy-going person. I can be humorous, I can tell stupid jokes and I can do crazy ridiculous things.

I am an adventurous, also a risk-taking person. I love to try out new fresh exciting challenging stuffs although I may be afraid. You just wouldn't know if there was anything wrong with my health just by looking at me, I know because everyone says so.

I am now going into a new phrase of my life.
The so-called longest studies in life, Working Life. Currently I am starting to adapt and enjoy my working life as a Private Practice Dietitian :)
